Reiki training from Beginner to Master
Reiki (pronounced "Ray- Key" ) is a Japanese technique that promotes natural healing. It is administered by the Reiki Practitioner placing their hands on or around the client's body (with the recipient fully clothed) and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" (Ki or Chi) flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low or unbalanced, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is ample and in balance, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "Spirituality or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
Traditional Reiki practice was established by the founder of Reiki, Dr Mikao Usui, in 1922. Dr Usui was a scholar who had travelled widely studying health and healing and developed Reiki after a 21 day meditation on a mountain top. Most modern day practitioners accept that the practices have elements that can be traced back to ancient Tibet and other cultures, including the healings reported in the Bible as 'laying on of hands'. Dr Usui developed an effective method of development and training for students of healing, which travelled to the U.S.A via Hawaii, and then all around the globe.
